Upstori. OHOKA. The annual meeting of the Aug lit an Church parishioners, presided over by the Rev. C. L. Sparrow, was well attended. The church wardens presented a balance-sheet with £7 17s 4d to credit, being a slight advance since the beginning of the year. Reference was made to the successful carrying ou of the Sunday School and of an improved attendance at services. Messrs E. Chamberlain and R. G. Ward were re-elected as wardens, and deputed to be delegates to the general vestry of tho parish, which consists of delegates from the Kaiapoi, Eyreton, Clarkville, Flaxton, and Oholca districts. An announcement was made that the old Maori school was under offer for sale and that -when sold the i>roceeds would go towards the cost of replacing tho vicurage at Kaiapoi, lately much damaged by fire. -Mr 3t. G. Ward was nominated as a representative of the parish for tho Synod." Tho Scout movement,, under the control of the Rev. 11. Cotton, is gaining .ground, the troop now having suflicient, members to form two patrols. Arrangements are completed for the visit of Mr Rich, the Commissioner from Christchurch, who attends on Friday to invest the troop, conduct examinations, aud give a film demonstration of tho [ activities of the movement in the Dominion. Black and scarlet were selected as the colours for the local centre. i BELFAST. ! A large number of town aud country sportsmen met at the Town Hall, Belfast, for the purpose of forming the Belfast Rod and Gun Club. Over 40 i of those present became financial members, the following being elected officers:—President, Mr G. Ebcrl; vicepresidents, Messrs L. R. Brunton and H. Patcman; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr E. White; and a management committee of six members. LADBROOKS. j Airs H. Beaumont and Miss Hilda I Beaumont (Radley), who have been) tho guests of Mrs .J. Ware, have returned home. The Hall Committee's annual ball, which was held last week, was a huge success. It was decided to hold another dance early next month. Miss Barbara Noble is the guest of Mrs T. Lcgg. There was a small attendance .at the annual householders' meeting. Mr F. Coles was in tho chair) and Mr R. J. Waro read the balance-sheet, which showed a credit of £9 odd in the private account. Tho following were elected to the committee:—Mr F. Coles (chairman), Messrs F. Meyer, T. Coleman, W. Gallagher, and R. .1. Ware (secretary). DUNSANDEL. At the annual meeting of parishioners of St. Thomas's Church", Dunsandel, Mill. ,F. Wright, vicar's warden, presided. It was agreed to guarantee an amount of £SO to the stipend fund. GREENPARK. There was a good attendance at .tho Hall Committee's weekly social, the prizes being won bv Mrs W. Hop ley (Lincoln), Miss I. Woods (Lincoln), Messrs C. Bennett, and J. B. Fleete (Greenpark). Next Monday evening, the annual meeting of the Hall Committee will be held. The Women's Division of the Farmers' Union (Tai Tapu and districts branch) is makina arrangements for a social evening, which will be held in the Greenpark Memorial Hall on Mav llth. LINCOLN. A meeting of the Lincoln Literary Club was held in the Presbyterian' Sunday School on Tuesday evening. The Rev. A. H. Acheson presided over a good attendance. It was decided thai the Circle meet fortnightly on Thursday evenings, commencing next week. It was decided that play reading be the ctner activity of the club, with occasiona lectures, etc. Mr J W. Galder was elected chairman for the year, and D. R. Blythe, secretary. The followin" committee was elected: Airs Brown, Miss Laishle.v. and Mr Hondo)S °Miss M.
