The National Joint Council for the building industry agreed to suspend for six months tho i notice to terminate the existing agree-1 ment, thus allowing time for the auions to consult their members on i terms of the new draft agreement. .The conference of *he National Union of Itailwaymen decided to accept the award of the National Wages Board, wlilcli involves a deduction of per cent, from wages up to 40s a week, and-a 1 further 2J per cent, on earnings in excess of 40s weekly, no i deduction to exceed 6s. The award has' already been accepted. by two other railway unions.
