G. Chapman mentioned the matter, snying that he would move that the Council approve of the action of tho clerk. "It is not right," be said, that the Canterbury Automobile Association should dictate to this Council as thev have done. Motor traffic has no right to be here at all." The chnirman, Mr C. E. Cross, said that ho had been approached by the secretary of the Automobile Association, but had informed him that the matter was in the hands of a sub-com-mittee of the Council and ho would not allow them to be interfered with.
