DENTAL ACT.
AN AUCKLAND BREACH, CPEESS ieSOOXATIOH T2LEGIUM.) AUCKLAND, October 1.0. As a sequel to the prosecution by the Auckland Dental Association oi a man named Headdey. who was fined fc3 for practising as an unregistered dentist,- Alexander Howey Walker was charged before Mr.JPr Kl Hunt, S.M.; <n tne Magistrate's Court, with permitting" an „unr@£istered person to practise. He was fined £3 and costs. Mr Moody.- who appeared for the Association, said- it was the aim of that body to stop the practice of allowing un rogrj stored men to work in surgeries. Mr Terry, who appeared for defendant, said ■ Headdey was a thoroughly i-ompetent man, who had been in the profession for 25 years. The reason he was unregistered was because be bad failed to pass all groups of his examinations at the required time Headdey hnd actually passed all the sections • It was not a ~ serious matter, and when Walker-found that Headdey had been ■ served with a summons, he had dispensed with his services. Mr Terry added that in view of the fact "•hat Headdey had already ceased to practise and that he had left his former employer, the present prosecution seemed rather futile
