A NOVEL PROPOSAL.
Last night the congregation of St. Michael's Church began its annual festival v eek with choral evensong an 3 procession, the Rev. H. Williams preaching the sermon. The vicar announced an appeal for old gold and jewels to be given to the church foi the purpose of working them up into a chalice for the Communion Service. The cork can be done in Christchurch, and it sufficient material is given a paten to go with the chalice could te made.
