FAMILY WAKED BY FLAMES. [THE PRESS Special Berrice.]
AUCKLAND, September 27. Members of a Mount Eden family had just time to scramble out of the windows of their home in Stokes road at threo o'clock this morning when it was discovered to be a mass of flames. Mr J. Paul, the tenant of the house, was awakened by his wife both could hear the crackling of the flamesThe family escaped through the windows with great difficulty, being nearly overcome by "the &nd bliQucd by the smoke. The house was destroyedIt was insured at the Phoenix Office for £650 and the furniture for £3OO in the London and Liverpool and Globe Office.
