DAFFODIL SHOW.
PRETTY EXHIBITION AT LINCOLN.
The fifth daffodil show organised by the Presbyterian Church, Lincoln, was held on Saturday in the Druids' Hall, Lincoln. From the number of entries, tho high standard of the exhibits, and the display it was tue most successful yet held. The show was opened at 2.30 p.m. by tiie Hon Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C., who heartil> congratulated the Show Committee on the fine display, and on the advance they had made on previous shows. Features of the show which drew _ many complimentary comments were a display oi daffodils from "Otahuna," comprising fnamed varieties, and a table of flowers and flowering shrubs, including 72 varieties, from Lincoln College, for which Mrs R. E. Alex ander was responsible. The judgo m the horticultural section (Mr A. Is.. Wilson) sa d that tho daffodils were in a much hn6r state han those of last year and there wore some notably good blooms. The prize for premier bloom in the show won b y Mr E. S. Peryman, with a Lord Koborts bloom, a funerb specimen. This was tho deciding factor in winning the B P® oi^i. dafE ?v'L t |mith' after a close contest with Miss Miss McMillan, judge in the home industries sections, said that,she had difficiilty 111 ini; prizes, the standard of the exhibits was so uniformly high. Mr Cottce of the children's work, Baid that the exhibits showed good work, and in the junior sections exceptional merit. In the photography section, Mr Cox, the judge, expressed himself as satisfied with the standard of the exhibits. The entries at the show were so large tttat the hall and the largest marquee available were not sufficient to accommodate the exhibits and the large number of visitors who went to see them.
