ANNUAL CLUB SPARROW CHAMPIONSHIPS. The Styx Gun Giul/ti annual epwrrow championship was held on Saturday afternoon. The weather was fine and warm, but th<s visibility was bad, and tho birds, rising agaiaot a background, made it almo3t impossible to detect them. 11 1 Frank Sisson (president o; the club; welcomed tho visitors. He mentioned tho championship medal had been given by Mr J. \V. Ive3, who had had it made to hvs own design from pure alluvia] obtained at Keefton Tbe first event was n sis-sparrow s-.vcop-stake, which drew a field of IC, and although some Orst-class shcoter3 computed, nono scored tho possible. Tho club spar row championship saw 22 competitors shoot oil the 21 yard mark. The possible w;w secured by J. Simpson; G. Koid, with ono oh" tha possible, frot second prir.o, and J. A Peppor. A. \Z. Brightling, and B. Greer, with 8 on, divided third mony. Those throe being the highest scorer? eligible to com pete for the medal, shot off over a 5-bird contest, tho winner being A. B. Brightling Tho concluding event wiib at viz sparrows. This drew a field of eighteen shooters. Mr M. Higham was o.Ticial scorer and il-r G N r . Onnandy was handicapner and referee.
