WHIPPET RACING.
NEW ZEALAND CLUB. On Saturday, the New Zealand Whippet Racing Club held its September meeting at tho New Brighton trotting ground, when there was a very fair attendance of spectators. Three flat events were provided on the programme and, in all three, the racing'' was keenly contested. The following were the results:— THE FORBES PUPPY HANDICAP, 150 yards flat (restricted to puppies under eight months in age). First Heat—V. J. Drake's Golden Arrow (scr) 1, Mrs F. B. Patterson's Gold Spinner (3yds) 2. Won by a length, with half a length between Gold Spinner and Rin Tin Tin. Time, Usee. Second Heat—S. Orchard's Wee Rose (Bydß> 1, F. Mortimer and G. S. A. BiltclifFs Etam (2yds) 2. Won by a length with Nancy Grey a similar distance away third. Time, II S-lOaec Final. Golden Arrow .. .. ..1 Etain .. .. .. '2 Gold Spinner .. .. ' 3 ' A good finish, the winner getting home by half a length with a like distance between second and third. Time, 11 1-Saec. THE ALEXANDER LIGHT-WEIGHT HANDICAP, 200 yards (restricted to dogs 20lb and under in weight). First Heat—A. J. Wing's Black Satin {pSyds) I, A. Higgs'a Cinema Star (35yds) 2. xtalhor a, poor finish. Black Satin winning by a. couple of lengths with Bab* » length and a half behind Cinema Star. Charmaine was over-weight. Time, 11 9-10 sec. Second Heat—A. J. Wing's Wee Trix (30yds) 1, S. Orchard's Wee Rose (SSyds) 2. Won by'half a length with Gold Star a foot away third. Time, 12 8-6 sec. Final. Black Satin .. .. ~ 1 Cinema Star .. .. .■ «.
