PARLIAMENT AND INDUSTRY.
? TO THE 'EDITOK O* THB PBBSt. Sir,—The suggestion made by Mr T. 'D. Burnett (Temuka) that a conference be called of all the interests in the ! t[ State to see if an amicable roadjust- ,, meat in the industrial life of the DoV- tninion could not be effected is good, but I would go further than that and advocate the appointment of a perman--1 ejit Board to deal with all industrial affairs, such Board to be subordinate to .' Parliament. Parliament in the main is incapable of dealing with such V tetters, as members are in the great of cases practically devoid of ■tkft-,necessary experience. They are adwell meaning citizens, and do best, but they should not be called —or be expected to—-undertake w&fca manifestly beyond them.—Yours, yflP NEW ZEALANBEB. 20th, 1930. -
