CHRISTCHURCH LADIES' CLUB. At the Shirley links yesterday over 36 holes, the final of the championship match was played between Miss Dorothy Chryßtall and Miss Betty Rutherford, Miss Rutherford winning 4 up and 3 to play. Both players started badly, and the first hole was halved in 7, Miss Chryßtall missing a short putt for a win. At the second hole Miss Rutherford's drive found the bunker and the hole coat her 6 to Miss Chrystall's 5, but she evened the match at Muggridge's after being in the hunker with her tee shot. Both players took 4 to the green at the fourth hole, and Miss Rutherford sank a six-foot putt to win in 5, and Increased her lead at tlio fifth hole, which she did in 5, At "Malrehau," after a good drive, Miss Rutherford put her second shot on the green and holed out in 3—an eagle—and she also won the 7tli and Bth holes. Crosswnys was halved in 3, Miss Chrystall lipping the cup for 2, making Miss Rutherford 5 up at tho turn. "Upshot" was halved tn 6, Miss Rutherford missing a short putt for 5, and aftor meeting trouble in the bunkers Miss Chrystall gave up the 11th hole, increasing Miss Rutherford's lead to 6. "The Pines" was halved in 8, and then Miss Chrystall struck a good patch. She won "Old Nick" in 0, and followed on by winning Shirley and then the 15th, which she did in 3, leaving her 8 down. Miss Rutherford won "Pagoda" in 5 and the 17th and 18th holes were halved in 6 and 4 respectively, leaving Miss Rutherford 4 up at the end of the morning round. >, On resuming play after lunch Miss Rutherford won the first hole and Miss Chrystall won Briggs's in 3, only to lose Muggridge's, making Miss Rutherford 5 up. Miss Rutherford continued to increase her lead; Miss Chrystall won Crosswnys in 2, and was 6 down at the turn. Both players were now producing good golf, Miss Ruthorford doing O'Rorke's in a birdie 8. The match ended at Farthest South, Miss Rutherford wining 4 up with 3 to play. Junior Challenge Bowl. The final of the junior challenge bowl competition was played yesterday' morning over 18 holes, between Mrs W. R. Lascelles and Miss Nonie Enright, Mrs Lascelles winning 1 up on the 19th greon. The match was keenly contested and proved very interesting. The first hole was halved, Miss Enright won the 2nd, lost the 3rd, and then won the 4th, sth, and 6th, making her 3 up after playing six holes. Mrs Lascelles won "Nor'-west," the Bth hole was halved, and Mrs Lascelles won Crossways, making her 1 down at the turn. Mrs Lascelles squared the match at "Upshot," but Miss Enright won "O.'Rorke" and halved the 12th. Mrs Lascelles won '.'Old Ni?k" and "Shirley," giving her a lead of 1. "Farthest South" was halved, and MiBS Enright won "Tho Pagoda" end "Te Orah<;a," making her dormie 1.
