DOGS ON CASHMERE HILLS.
to rsa wwTog or ths raass Sir,—l «an support M. W. Barrett's letter of the 16th inst. regarding dogs woirying sheep on Cashmere HjUs. 1 have *eea' an Irish Terrier, possibly 'ho one jj-.t'iit) >:)'■] 'by your <oiT-es-«nii dent, in company with another dog, worrying sheep. Thanks,to the watchfulness of a shepherd, one dog that i know of, will never worry any more .sheep,, but unfortunately the Irish Terrier got away, and evidently now .has other niates Hut one < vs." need to live on Cashmere to be worried wit}) stray dogs and other animals. My children had their, pet lamb taken from a shed last week by a dog at mid-day, but I suppose the poor brute needed a feed. These dogs are a pest in the neighbourhood thev break down the netting of oy.e's fowl runs, upset garbage tins, and destroy gardens, and when one mentions these facts to the "ivn«r of the one onlv pets abuse. I bolieve the City Council's inspectors would have a busy time elearing up th© do<»s in this suburb, and doing the residents a great kindness.—-Yours, C. H. LANGSTON.
