Blaxwell (Invercargill). WEDDINGS. HODGSON—EARLE. Many Christchurch friends trill be interested to hear of the wedding of Miss Mabel Margaret Earle, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred J. Earle, of Brougham street', Nelson, to Mr Charles Bertram Hodgson, only son of Mrs B. J. Hodgson, and thq late Mr Hodgson of Examiner street, Nelson. The ceremony took place last week at the Church of St. Barnabas, Stoke, the officiating clergymen being the Rev. J. G. S. JBartlett, and the Rev. F. J Daynes, vicar of Richmond. The organ music was provided by Mrs T. Scott. The interior of the church was charmingly decorated for the-occa-sion with branches of plum blossom and many spring flowers. A fine floral bell was hung over the place where the bride and bridegroom stood, and with the light from some very beautiful stained glass windows which the church possesses, the wedding group was picturesquely set. The brxde was escorted by tier father, her graceful frock being of ivory the back panel forming a long train. A veil and orange blossoms were worn, and a beautiful bouquet of magnolia blossoms, white hyacinths, and maidenhair fern was carried. The bridesmaids were Misses Sybil Judd and Gertrude Hodgson, their dainty frocks being of floral chiffon in tones of orange, • brown, and. pink, with cinnamon brown hats. Their bouquets of Iceland. poppies toned artistically with their frocks. Mr •F. NobleAdams was best man. and Mr Malcolm Earle was groomsman. The wedding reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents. Mrs Earle. who reoeived the guests, wearing a handsome frock of navy lace over georgette and-hat to ton*. Among many wedding gifts was some beautiful crystal from the Old Boys' (Nelson College) Football Club, a silver inkstand from the Board of the Kirkpatrick Masonic Institute, and a silver entree dish from the directors of the Nelson "Evening Mail." Y.W.C.A. In order to help to relieve the present position in the City with regard to lighting, the directors of the Young Women's Christian Association have decided to suspend all evening activities for the present.
