BAXTER—MASTER MUSICIAN.

An interesting incident was related to Mr Baxter, of Baxter's Lung Preserver fame, recently, when a father explained that as his small son showed an early fondness for music he • had made a practice of telling him each night before he went to bed the name and abbreviated biography of one of the famous composers. In introducing him to Mendelssohn, the father advised the boy to remember this difficult name by its similarity to the word "medicine."
