The evening newspapers here, the "Sun" and the "News," announce an increase to ljd as from August 4th. "The ever-mounting costs of production, capped by the new taxation, have made it impossible to publish a firstclass daily newspaper for one penny," states the "Sun" to-night. [An earlier message stated that an inorease in the price of papers to ljd had been announced by the "Sydney Morning Herald," the* "Daily Guardian," and the "Daily Telegraph Pictorial."]
