MAJESTIC THEATRE.

"THE ADVENTURES 0F 513."

There is an unusual grip about "Tho Adventures of 813," which is probably owing to the fact that it was writton specially for talkie production. The film opens in China, and whon tho submarine is rammed and sunk in the middle of tho China Sea, tho sailor;; aro trapped in the forepart of the vessel, and tbeir only hope of rescue is by divers. Their reaction to tho desperate nature of their plight is dramatically portrayed. Through tho whole action, until tho ultcmate rescue, runs tho story of Burke, the mystery luan, who was said to hove been in II.Af.H. Hampshire when she went down with Kitchener. Burke is a non-commissioned officer in >SJ3, and when roscue becomes possible with tho sacrifice of one man who must remain behind, he explains to the officer in command that to face life again as Quartermaiu of the Hampshiro would be to sacrifice the honour of the woman ho loved, and by force he persuades the former to leavo him to an honourable death. There is no woman in the cast, although tho woman Burke loved plays an important part in the story itself. In the leading roles aro Kenneth McKenna, Frank Alberlson. J. Farroll McDonald. Walter McGrall, and Stuart Erwin. These men all havo heroic tasks in portraying one of the most dramatic of talkies so far released in New Zealand.
