-——♦ U.S.A. V. ITALY. PARIS. July 08. In the Davis Cup inter-zone final, W. Allison (U.S.A.) beat G. de Stefani (Italy) 4-6, 7-9, 6-4, 8-6, 10-8. „ _ G-. M. Lot (U.S.A.) was leading H. L. de Morpurgo (Italy) 3-6, 9-7, 10-8 when play was abandoned owing to the bad light. W. T. Tilden says Allison snatched a sensational victory from de Stefani, when facing defeat. The American led 6-1 in the second set, and had three set points, but lost to de Stefani. In the fourth set the latter led 4-2, when Allison rallied, and volleyed brilliantly. Stefani also had a 8-0 advantage m the final set. and went to 5-1. Allißon, fighting hard, pulled up and led 6-S, and won a great matclv Both players were distressed at the finish. • AMERICANS WIN FURTHER MATCHES. - (Received July 20th, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, July 19. Continuing yesterday's abandoned match, Lott (U.S.A.) defeated de Morpurgo (Italy), winning the fourth set' 6-0. ■ ■ In the doubles, Allison and _Yan Ryn defeated de Morpurgo and Gaslini, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4, 1-6,. 6-3.
