HARRIERS.
PRESBYTERIAN CLUB. Thirty-two members attended the run from the Sumner Presbyterian Church, as guests of the Y.W.B.C. The trail was laid by A. Reynolds and S. Barnett and led over to Taylor's Mistake, up the valley from the sea to the Summit road, then around on thj level to Evans Pass road, then home to Sumner. -The results of the run-in were:— Slow Pack—S. P. Mufi 1, R. A. Milne 2, V. Ferris 3. _ _ Intermediate Pack—T. Strong 1, R. W. Giendinning 2, E. Blyth and A. Blyth (equal) Fast Pack—M. Robinson 1, R. Hay 3, IChristie 3. , ~ Mr R. L. Brunton expressed the olub s thanks to the hostesses and the Rev. J. M. Simpson replied on their behalf. ANGLICAN CLUB. Twenty-one runners- from the Anglican Club followed a six-mile trail laid by D. Rosonoski and I. George on Saturday afternoon. The run started from St. Marks Church, Opawa road, aud led Opftwa, over Rapaki, and home through St. Martins. Tho run included some stiff hillwork, where running was extremely difficult owing to the slippery nature of _ tho course. In tho run home the following secured places:— ■ . Slow Pack—C P. Jones 1, N. Harris 3, J. Vivian 3. _ . Fast Pack—G. Broadway I, F. Gill&tt 5. H. G. Holmes 3. .... .■<. Next week's run will be held from the residence of Mr Dudley, 86 Fendalton road. CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The Ohristchurch Harrier Club's run on Saturday wad held from the residence of Mr and Mrs H. E. Smith, Ashgrove terrace. Cashmere. There was an attendance of about thirty, divided into three packß. Th® trail-layers were R. Smith and R. McKee, who set «. well-laid course of about five miles. Each pack held a run-in over the last few hundred yards, the results being as follows: Slow Pack. A. H. Jacksoa . - .. 2 B. A. Barrer . . .. 3 Mr and Mrs Smith entertained the runners at afternoon tea, thanks being returned by I Mr B- A. Barrer. The run next : Saturday will be held from the residence of Mrs G. Pascoe, 195 Antigua street. METHODIST CLUB. The club held its usual weekly run from the residence of the Rev. A. N. Scotter, Manchester street. A. good trail of abgut six or seven miles, laid by N. Newbold and F Thorp, led along the river fcr about a mile and half and then through towards Shirley. From there it led round the St. Albans Park up and along Edgeware road to Springfield road, and finally along Salisbury and up Manchester streets. The run home resulted: E Ell - and T. for their hospitality. The club will .run next week as the gueste of Dr. J. H. Simpson, 61 Puriri street, Riccarton. RUN AT SUMNER. The Presbyterian Harriers were the gueat* of the Sumner Presbyterian Young Women s Bible Class on Saturday afternoon. The two "hares"—S. H. Barnett and A. Beynolds—pursued by three packs, laid a circuitous trail over Scarborough Hill, through Taylor's Mistake, along the saddle of the spur to Evans Pass, thence down the hill to Heberden avenue, near the School for the Doaf. The trail then led back io the Presbyterian Sunday School. , 5, ' The order of the return was as follow#: Slow Pack—G. F. Muff, R. A. Milne, V. E'e rris - _ ' ~ Medium Pack—T. Strong, R. W. Glendinning, E. and A. Blythe (equal third). Past Pack—M. Robinson, R. Har, T. Chrietie. Most of the harriers on their return preferred a eea bathe" to the hot water provided. During the afternoon tea the Rev. J. Simpson welcomed the boys, and L. Brunton, on behalf of the harriers, suitably replied, and moved a vote of thanks to "the Young Women's Bible Class. BAPTIST CLUB. The Baptist harriers were the guests'on Saturday of Mrs Haymes, 13 Percy street, Linwood. Three packs followed a good trail (seit by W. Haymes and A. E. Miles) for six miles, through Bromley, Bexley, and Linwood districts. The run in, over the last mile and a half, resulted: Fast.. Pack—A. Park I, O. P. J one* 9, L Milner 8, R. S. Odell 4. _ _ Intermediate Pack—E. R. Simpson 1, 35. J. Walker 2, R. Park 3. Slow Pack—J. H. Scott 1, C. "W. Bell 2, J. Owen 3. KAIAPOI CLUB. The Kaiapoi Harriers' Club held a practice run on Saturday afternoon over an eightmile course. C. Gordon was first, L. Hill second, and I. Richardson third. A. D. Kane was first home of the fast pack, with A. Tozer second and R. Graham third, Kane's time being 53min.
