BURSARIES UNPAID.

* LINCOLN COLLEGE COMPLAINT. Criticism was levelled at the Education Department at yesterday's meeting of the Board of Governors of the Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, when the question of the payment of bursaries to certain students was mentioned. A communication from the Education Department stated that it could not forward the money for bursaries until the details of the fees of the students concerned were made known to the Department. The forwarding of the total fees, without each item being specifically mentioned, was not sufficient, the letter stated. "It is only pin-pricking," said Mr H. S. S. Kyle, M.P. "There is too much red tape about it." "It is easy to see where the money paid to civil servants goes," said Mr C. H. Hewlett. : It was decided to reply to the Education Department, giving the sum total of the amount of the fees, and asking that the bursary money be forwarded.
