PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY.
A meeting of the Canterbury College Photographic Society was held last night, Mr M. C. Lysons presiding. The secretary, Mr K. W. Parr announced that in the last photographic competition for "Mountain and Sr.ow Scenes,'' the results were M. C Lysons I and 2. . Mr W. A. Taylor, president of the ChristcHircli Photographic Society, then- gave an address on landscape photography. The speaker dealt with the types of camera and plates required for puch work, especially stiessing the advantage of a stand camera with plates. Forms-of composition were distinctly important in & good photograph, such tvpes as the diagonal and S formation being especially pleasing. ; At. the conclusion of an interesting address, which was illustrated by lantern elides, the speaker wue accorded • vote of thanks.
