LYTTELTON NEWS.

Miniature BUM Notes. The juniors met and defeated Sydenham at Christchurcb on Wednesday, the scores being Lyttelton 543, Sydenham 586. Highest scorers for Lyttelton were F. U. Mills, E. T. Whitford, and W. L. Symonds, 69 each. The president's were defeated by Ford Motors, the-scores being Ford Motors 535, Lyttelton 522. The best scorer for- Lyttelton was A. Burbery, with 67. The winners '■ of the various buttons for the week were A. W. Burbery, with 70, for the juniors; president's, A. Burbery, sen., with 67; third grade, F. Oakley, with 67; and ladies, .Miss F. Burbery, with 66. Next week the juniors will fire against Burwood, and the president's against New Brighton ladies, both matches being shot at Lyttelton. Seamen's Institute. An enjoyable concert, arranged by Mrs C. Blair and Miss Hatchwell, of the Lyttelton Guild, was given in the Seamen's Institute on Thursday evening, before about 30 seamen. The programme was as follows: Pianoforte duets. Misses Hatchwell; songs, Mrs Ellis, Miss M. Hatchwell, Mr Ellis, Mrs F. Mintey; violin solo, Mr J. le Budde; recitations, Master Noel Blair; vocal dnet, Mr and Mrs fillis. The accompanists were Miss Hatchwell and Mr Harman. The chairman expressed the thanks of the audience to the various performers, after which supper was Girls' FHendly Society. Members and associates of the G.RS. held a happy social in St. Saviour's School this week, to which parents and friends were invited. An interesting programme of", competitions and items was submitted. During the evening Miss Cocka (Christchurch) gave an interesting talk on the work of theG.F.S. Those who contributed to the evening's enjoyment were: Misses Olive and Agnes Spronle (dance), Gladys Dennis, Irene and Zeta Brassell (pianoforte aotos). Myrie Webb, Joyce and Betty Brooke (songs), Mrs C, Liddy (elocutionary items). After a dainty supper had been served dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Mrs G. Brooke. Among those present were: Mesdames O. Maclaverty, J. Brassell, Blssett, W. Newton, C. Prlddy, Dennis, B. Nolan, J. Herd, Hayes, Morrltson, Goodman son, Roberts, Brooke, Coeks, Lewin, Donnelly, and Comer. Golf. . The following will represent tho Lyttelton Golf Club in a match agaicat the Christchurch Golf Club at Cbarteria Bay to-morrow:—F. Knights, H. Ayers, L. Barnard, C. Ayers, T. Paterson, it. Candy, D. E. L. Collett. The following will represent the Lvttelton Golf Club against the Diamond Harbour Golf Club at Diamond Harbour to-morrow: H. G. Banfield, B. Wilson, H. Fletcher, C. Collins, R. Erwin, M. Derbidg'e, J. . Stanley, M. Mctiilligan, R. Scott* and L. Gower. ,
