Miners' officials informed aggregate meetings of the miners that the Federation would be faced with a financial crisis unless the men resumed work On the November compromise terms. Contributions from other unions had fallen off to such an extent that food and relief payments could not be maintained. The speakers referred to the possibility of a stampede and a debacle. With the consequent smashing Up of the Federation.
