AGREEMENT RENEWED.

ABATTOIR SLAUGHTERMEN'S WAGES. An industrial agreement, affecting the slaughtermen and their assistants empjpyed at the Municipal Abattoir, has boon arrived at betwoen the Canterbury Freezing Works and Belated Trades? Union and the Christchurch Abattoir Co-operative Party. The only alteration from the previous cpnditions is that provision is made in the new agreement for the payment of wages weekly, instead of fortnightly. The agreement comes into force as on May Ist, 1930, and is to remain in force till April, 30th, 1931. No meeting pf the Conciliation Cpuncil was necessary, but the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr W. H. Hagger, was instrumental in bringing about thp agreement.
