THE BOWLING SEASON.

to ihjs nDiToa or the pbkss correspondent "Senex-;Ju-nior," whose letter appeared in Wednesday's P»B8i is to be congratulated on the excellent constructive suggestions brought forward. Those who have been enthusiastically helping their clubs for year? are • conscious of the dissatisfaction /which exists amongst a number of members who seldom get into an important /match team, and when they do, do no't enjoy it, because they feel they are there on sufferance. '' Senex-Junior'' has ably stated the position, and I am quite sure all bowlers would welcome a grading list for the North Canterbury district. • I would, therefore, suggest to representatives on the Canterbury Bowling Centre that they go into the question, draw up a scheme of grading .all players within the next few weeks, and send remits ' to all the clubs, asking the opinion of members* The annual meetings will all be held within the next month or two, and the present time presents excellent opportunity, of considering., the position. If the grading is carried out there could be three grade competitions next season. All players would then enjoy the competitions because their competitors , would be in the same grade, aa themselves, and harmony would be promoted between the, weaker players in the club. AH other sports are graded. Why not bowls?— Yours, etc., PAST PRESIDENT. May Ist, 1930.
