TO PICKLE WHEAT.
TO IHB EDITOD Of THE I'BESS • Sir,—Your correspondent wants to know the best way to pickle .-wheat. The following is my way, and it has done for 40 years. Only for two years did I make a mistake. One year' I tried something said'to be better, which proved a failure. Another year I got some wheat badly affected with :ball smut. Here is my incthod:, Get tho best blue stone (be sure it . is); dissolve one ounce to the bushel; measure out correctly into enough cold water to wet all the grain (say, . ' about a- petrol tin not quite full). Throw two or three bags on the floor and. turn it three times; bag up, and let it stand overnight. It is ready - to sow next morningv—Yours, etc., ',:■•■ , SATISFIED. April 30thv 1930.
