YOUTH DROWNED.
(raxss association tilbobav.) TAURANGA, April 22. A verdict of accidental drowning was returned by the Coroner, Mr A. P. Tunks, at the inquest on the death of Kenneth Whitworth,' aged seventeen vears who was drowned in the Wairoa rjver on Sunday morning. Evidence showed that Whitworth with two;companions, wont deer-stalking, leaving a motor-car by the side of the river, which they crossed. When returning, Whitworth and one companion, L. Entwistle, attempted to take a short cut by swimming a deep channel fully clad Whitworth, who was behind, railed out and disappeared at once. Swistle searched but r °«» d /® tr Xe-poK. who found the ESdy yesterday. Whitworth recently Eft the High School, where he was one of the best athletes.
