RIFLE SHOOTING.
MT. SOMERS. The annual meeting of the Mt. Soiners Miniature Rifle Club was told on Saturday evening, Mr J. Gorrie (captain) presiding over a fair attendance. The report and balance-sheet showed that the club had had a successful season. It was agreed that the possible for juniors be 50, and seniors 70. It was reported that a cup was being given by Mrs W. B. Hood, of Sydenham, Ohristchurch, a former resident of the district, for competition, to be known as "tho W. N. Hood Memorial Cap." for the highest aggregate in 13 shots out of 16 consecutive handicap shoots, handicaps to be revised monthly. Office-bearers were elected as follows: Patroness Mrs I. F. Peache; president, Colonel E. B. Neill; vice-presidents, Messrs F. Peter, H. H. Hood, and (J. A. Bland; club captain, Mr J. Gorrie; vice-captain, Mr .0. Qluyas; secretary-treasurer, Mr J. T. Bull; target judge, Mr L. Hood; handicapper, Mr W. A. H. Sharpe; armourers, Messrs W, Smith and W. Morgan.
