A largely attended meeting of Taumarunui farmers on Saturday, night, convened to discuss the menace of deer, passed the following resolution: "That this representative • meeting or farmers of the Taumarunul dißtnct requests the Department of Internal Affairs to make strong representations to the conference of organisations interested in the control of deer-in-New Zealand to be held on April 11th, concerning the serious position that has arisen in this district by the destruction of turnip crops and pastures, due to the alarming increase in the herd in the district."
