WAR PENSIONS.
APPEAL BOARD SESSIONS CONCLUDED.
The War Pensions Appeal Board yesterday finished its Christchurch gitting. The members of the Board, Sir Walter Stringer (chairman), Mr H. J. Atkins (secretary), and Drs. A. J. Orchard and P. A. Ardagli, have dealt with, forty-four cases in this City during the session. Mr E. Willcox, secretary of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association, acted as advocate for twentyfive appellants, fourteen of the appeals being upheld, eight being dismissed, and three being deferred.
In soveral cases pensions were granted to men who were proved to be incapacitated, as far as earning was concerned, due to war service. One man, a sanitorium inmate, was granted a full pension from tho time of liis entrance. A widow obtained restitution in respect of her husband's death, tt pension having been previously declined.
