PLUMBERS HOLD SMOKE CONCERT.
The Christchurch Master Plumbers' Association held a smoke concert last evening in honour of the delegates to the conference which closed yesterdav. The toast of "Municipal and Local Bodies" was proposed bv Mr W. Large. In replying on behalf of the Mayor (Mr J. K. Archer), . who was unable to be present, Mr McGregor Wright, chairman of the Christchurch Technical College Board of Governors, paid a tribute to the assistance, financial and otherwise, which was always given to the College by the Christchurch Plumbers' Association.
Mr W. A. Jenkins proposed the health of the "New Zealand Plumbers' Board." He pointed out that the formation of the Board had relieved the local bodies of much responsibility in conducting examinations.
Mr J. S. Douglas responded. Other toasts honoured were "New Zealand Federation of Master Plumbers," "Allied Trades," "Our Visitors," "Christchurch Master Plumbers' Association, and "The Press." During the evening some well appreciated musical items were rendered.
