METROPOLITAN AKEA
The outstanding featured of the vital statistics for the Chriatrhuroh Metro politan area for last month, as compared with January, 1029, are an increase of births and deaths, and a decrease in marriages. There were 24 more births registered last month than in January, 1929; 21 more deaths; and 32 fewer marriages. Tho details arc:— Jan. Jan. 1930. 1920. Births .. 231 207 Deaths ..109 88 Marriage Notices .. 79 111 Marriages in Office .. 16 18 The figures relating to "marriages in office" are included in those relating to "marriage notices." WANGANUI.
