It is proposed to form a fire brigade officers' guild, to be affiliated to the British Institute of Firo Engineers. The matter was reported to the Wellington Fire Board on Friday. Superintendent J. Creeke said steps were being taken in the same direction in other centres, and he thought the move was a good one. The examination of the British Institute was a stiff one, and it would mean that the Board's officers would have to qualify up to standard. It was pointed out that such an organisation would only be for officers and not for the rank and file. Draft rules were submitted, and Mr S. S. Dean said thfl Board would have no objection to such an organisation.
