FIRE AT SUMNER.
A sky-rocket was responsible for a grass fire on Clifton on New Year's Eve, at 9.4-5. The grass was very dry and in a short time there was a considerable blaze. The Sumner Volunteer Fire Brigade was summoned and quickly had the fire under control.
