Mackie. formerly o£ Christchurch, broke the five miles motor-paced record established by H. Opperman, Australian champion. at Christchurch last week. Mackie - s time was 7min 32 2-ssee, against Opperman's Bmin 27sec. Mackie was paced by his brother. W. Mackie, former holder of New Zealand cycling championships.
