MAGISTERIAL. } t TUESDAY. (Before Air E. C. Levvey, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. A statutory first offender for drunkenness was remanded for a week for medical treatment. Alary Sullivan, alias Mary Murphy, for drunkenness, was fined 10b and costs, in default 24 hours' imprisonment. On a charge of breaking her prohibition oidei, she was convicted and discharged. WILFUL DAMAGE. William Heron, on a charge of drunkeanees, was convicted and discharged. For wilfully damaging two panes of glass Talued at £3, the property of Mary Pilling, be was fined £1 and costs and ordered to make good the damage. THEFT. A young man of 17 years of age, whoso name was suppressed, was admitted to probation for a period of threa years on a charge of the theft of a box of cigars valued at 15s. Mr K. G. Archer appeared for accused. "You have still got time to make yourself a man," said the Magistrate, in imposing sentence. "I do not know whether I am doing right in extending leniency, but I want to give you a chance. Unless you studiously follow out the directions of the Probation Officer, you will be Bent away to the Borstal Institute." CIVIL JUKISDICTION. (Before Mr H. A. Young, S.M.)
