N.Z. COUNCIL MEETS. SELECTORS CHOSEN. Mr A. T. Donnelly presided. The West Australian Cricket Association wrote that the M.C.C. team had arrived, and that the Association had extended a welcome to the cricketers on i>ehalf 01 the New Zealand Cricket Council. The State match had been a financial su' cess. A letter from the Victory Park Board. Christr-hureh. was received, advising the council that its application for the u~e of Lancaster Park on January 10th. 11th. and 13th. I'J3U, had been granted. The following cable had been received from Mr A. H. H. Gilligan. captain of the Marylebone team: "Am very worried nbout Bowley. who has acute attack of sciatica : propose him New Zealand next boat. Would treatment Rotorua cure-''' The council had replied that it agreed with Mr Gilliiran's proposal. The Australian Board of Control for International Cricket. Adelaide, wrote enclosing returns for the match M.C.C. versus South Australia. Receipts amounted to £961 2s 6d. and a credit haianco of £740 7s 8d was shown, the New Zealand Cricket Council taking 75 per cent, of the net profit. Boys' High School win by default. CHRIST'S COLLEGE OLD BOY AT CAMBRIDGE. H. B. Johnstone, who represented Christ's College at both football and cricket from 1925 to 1927, has already made his mark on the cricket field at Cambridge, where he is in his first year at St. Catherine's College. In a letter to a friend in Christchurch, he says that he played about ten games for his College, and had an average of 150. His lowest score was 27. He remarks in the letter that "Gilbert Reeves might be glad to hear that." Mr Reeves coached Johnstone all the time he was at Christ's College. At Rugby, also, he distinguished himself for a first-year man. He won his colour!, his team carrying off the competition. The side included 'our internationals. VETERANS' CLUB. The Veterans' Club will play a match against a. team representing Wilson Bros. to-morrow at 2 p.m. FRIENDLY MATCH. Last Saturday a match was played between Brims and McCreatb and Dominion Builders, the former winning by 221 runs to 86. For the winners H. Briggs made 51, E. Kincj 40, P. Hellyer 27, S. King 26, L. Kinir 19. and T. Hammond 12. For Dominion Builders, Moran made 44 and T. McMahan 16. For the winters. E. King •ix wickets and E Sibley two, and for Dominion Builders, Reyland four, Woodward three, H.
