WOMAN ACQUITTED.
JURY ACTS ON JUDGE'S DIRECTION. (UXITED TKKSa ASSOCIATIOX—BT ELECTRIC Tthzaxxta —coPTaioHT.) (Received November llolh, 11.13 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 25. At the Criminal Court to-day, Ada Bunfield, aged 40, was presented on a charge of murdering her husband, a school teacher, by poisoning at Michelage. At the conclusion of the Crown's ease, Mr Justice Halserogers directed the jury to acquit the woman, who was found not guilty and discharged.
[A cable message on August 9th, stated the body of Alec Bunfield had befn exhumed by the police at Michelago, near Queanbeyan. A bottle containing strychnine was found in the yard. After dinner on the previous Sunday, Bunfield complained that the peaches tasted bitter. He died within a few hours. In subsequent proceedings Mrs Bunfield was committed for trial on a charge of having caused her husband's death by poisoning.]
