SALVATION ARMY. At Temuka on Sunday Brigadier Mi'Kav conducted successful anniversary services in connexion •with the Sunday S,choul. Tn the afternoon the boys from tlie Bramwell Booth Homo, under the leadership of Major Powiek, assisted by the Pring children belongingto the Tcmuki corns, gave an excellent programme of so tip; and recitations. The prizes for the year were presented. The anniversary services will be continued this evening, when a varied programme will be given by boys from the Bramwell Booth Homo. Rifle Shooting. On Saturday afternoon the Tiinaru ]>erVtu-o Rifle' Club held its weekly shoot on the Teruuka range. There was a £ood attendance. Some good shooting was done, though at times tho light was bad. The conditions for the day were seven shots at 300, s<nl. and. 600 yards, for a club trophy. Eifleman J. Dunnill, sen., one of Timaru's oldest active shots, won the match with 98, including handicap. Eifleman W. Malcolm was second with 93. The highest score off the rifle was made by Rifleman .). Punnill, sen., who put on the creditable score of 9.j, made up as follows: —30 at 300, 32 at 500, and 33 at 600. Eifleman Malcolm was second with 91. The Gold Rifle was wou by Rifleman J. Punrtill, sen., with 31 bulls. The matches for the championship will commence next Saturday. Church Jubilee. There were large attendances at St. John's Anglican Church, Winchester, on Sunday, the occasion being the golden jubilee of the opening of the building. The E-ev. G. Xelham Watson, the Rev. .T. R. Hervey, and Bishop West-Watson conducted the services. Personal. Bishop and Mrs West-Watson were the guests of Mr and Mrs G. A. M. Maedonald (Orari) over the week-end-Mr and Mrs F. W. Shallard and Mr Percy Shallard (Gore) are the guests of Mr and Mrs H. E. Smith, Geraldine.
