White 1 , saej Patrick James W»t-r. r ., fruiterer, and his wif~ Violet Lillian Watson, for nn order for posst-ssion cf a shop ar.d dwelling at 79u Colombo 6treet, also for the takinr of accounts and for judgment for the sum fu\ind to be due to her. Defendant: were unrepresented. Kunald Smith Badger, land agent, who was instrumental in putting defendants into possesion, stated, ia evidence, that they had ! roved unsatisfactory tenants, and he had .erred notice of the termination of the arrangement for possession. Mr White said that the position of the defendant* financially was so unsatisfactory thas it was not worth w-hile pressing the claim for taking of accounts. The order for possession was granted, with costs, a counter-claim for ££j being dismissed with costs. MAGISTERIAL.
MONDAY. (Before Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M.) REMANDS GRANTED. A further remand to December 2nd was granted the police in the charge against Ivy Bertha St. George of the attempted murder of her husband, George Edwin St. George. ' John Skipper was remanded to December 2nd on charges of converting to his own use a bicycle valued at £7 10s, the property of the New Zealand Government, and a motorcar valued at £175, the property of Florence Evelyn MacDougall. IMPRISONMENT FOR THEFT. Henry Barrett was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour on a charge of the theft of a quantity of clothing valued at 31s 3d, the property of Harold (•eov<To Stevens, of Christ's College. On charges of drunkenness, the theft of a pair of opera glasses, the property of some person unknown, and the theft of a coat and silver pencil valued at £1 15s, the property of Thomas Robert Bel! Mulligan, he -was victed and discharged. FALSE PRETENCES. Robert Charie3 Stuart pleaded guilty to a charge of obtaining from Alexander Forsyth the sum of £ls in money by falsely representing that he owned a quantity of furnit«re - ... -j Ho was admitted to probation for a period of two years. TRAFFIC CASES. James Dillon (Mr L. J. Hensley) was ordered to pay costs on a charge of operating an unlicensed motor-lorry. Clyde Pillinger, for riding a motor-cycle without an efficient silencer, was fined 20s and costs. Robert Towart. for riding a motor-cycle at an excessive speed, wbb fined £3 and costs. For overloading a taxi, James Fowler was fined 10s and costs. On a charge of using an unregistered motor-cycle. Allan Mangles was convicted and | discharged. On a charge of operating a motor omnibus on n route other than that permitted, Donald William McKinnon was fined 10s. (Before Mr xT. P. Lawry. S.M.) MAINTENANCE CASES. Aminda Percival Eric Eden, for disobedience of a maintenance order, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour, the warrant to be suspended so long sb he pays 7s 6d a week off the arrears, in addition to the Bmount of the current order. On a similar charge William Jackson Huddlestone was sentenced to three months imprisonment with hard labour, warrant to be suspended so long as he pays 2s 6d a week off the arrears in addition to the amount of the current order, • On a similar charge Richard Heddon John Templeman was given the same option. DISMISSED. A complaint for an affiliation and maintenance order against Peter Stephens was dismissed.
