LATE MR J. A. BLANK.
THE FUNERAL. The funeral of the late John Albert Blank took place yesterday at the Linwood Cemetery. A very large number of friends were present, including representatives from many public bodies, sporting clubs, and associations. Among those attending were:—Mr F. Banks (chairman, Canterbury Education Board), Mr J. H. Kimber, Mr C. S. Thomas, Mrs C. Batten, Mr and Mrs J. Anderson, Mr E. Pearson, Mr G. N. Ormandy, Mr J. Kirk and Mr A. C. Bowley (secretary and assistant secretary of the Canterbury Education Board), members of the Edgeware Bowling Club), Mr J. W. Beanland, Mr H. F. Penlington, Mr C. W. Hervev, Mr and Mrs J. Guiney, Mr R. English, Mr J. Goss, Mr A. Baker, Mr M. Chittenden, Mr J. Gilbert, Mr T. Borthwick, Mr A. Bell, Mr E. Condie, Mrs M. Spray, Mr T. Andrews, Mr E. Sayers, Mr R. Garrity, Mr G. Chittenden, Mr G. Pearce, Mr E. Grant, Mr F. Baker, and many others. The Rev. J. R. Hervev, of St. Stephen's Church, conducted "the burial service, and the pall-bearers were members of the Edgeware Bowling Club, of which Mr Blank was a life member. The principal mourners were Mrs J. A. Blank," Mr and Mrs A. R. Blank, Mr and Mrs H. Browning, Mrs A. Bloxham, Mr R. Browning, and Mr A. H. Parker. Wreaths were sent by the Education Board, the teaching profession, and many educational institutes, the Fendalton "School Committee, the Fendalton School staff, the Fendalton School children, the Edgeware Bowling Club, the Richmond Working Men's Club and M.S.A., the Harewood Golf Club, the Mothers' "Union, Messrs Hardie and Thomson Ltd., St. Stephen's Sunday School children, and many others.
