AUSTRALIAN RIDERS AT ENGLISH PARK.
• ♦ — PERKINS AND MANN WILL BE IN BIG EVENT ON SATURDAY. Following on a policy of importing the best of Australian riders, Christchurch Speedt«js, Ltd., have secured Syd. Period, of the Speedway Royal. Sydney, and he will appear for the first time on Saturday night at English Park. Perkins is reputed to be one of Sydney's best, and, as he is listed as scratch man in his home speedway, he has just claims to high honours. The new arrival will meet Arthur Mann, from the Wentwdrth Speedway. Sydney. Mann has appeared at English Park several times, and has delighted-the spectators by his amasing riding on the cinders. With these two riders going their very hardest, the times for the track should receive a very hard knock on Saturday night. The improvements carried out to English Park earlier in the year and recently, have made it a very up-to-dart speedway. The Irghting _:= excellent, and the seating accommodation is such that no matter where one sits the view of the riders is unobstructed. Its easy accessibility is another factor that makis English Park pop-far. Additional attractions for the Cup Night carniTal will be attacks on the track reccrd bv the visiting rider- ar.d '.he local stars. A verv full programme, the biggest offered yet, will be presented. Derry's Band will be in attendance at 7.45 p.m.
