The amount requested would have to be paid from unauthorised expenditure. The chairman (Mr H. Holland) said he did not like to see the proposal "turned down flat." The Board should guarantee up to £SO. If necessary ; the money could be collected. The Board should show willingness to encoirago access to th'e wharves. Mr \V. J. Walter said the establishment of a Commission was a matter more for an outside body rather than for the Port and Citr League to start. If the Government set up a Commission, it would he all right.
