KAIAPOI FLOWER SHOW.
A opring flower show, under the auspices of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, was held in the Orange Hall, Kaiapoi, yesterday. The show was officially opened by the Mayor (Key W H A. Vickery), and there was a, good" attendance in the afternoon and evening Although the entries were not quite> so lafge as usual, the quality of the exhibits wfcf exceptionally good,, the display of daffodils being a special teature. ihe silver citp for twelve distinct varieties ©i narcissi was won by B. Penlington. The exhibits were judged by Mr Clark, of Lawrence. Stalls were arranged for the sale of refreshments, home industries, etc., and a thriving business was done. Those in charge of the various stalls were: Refreshments Mesdames L. Baker, G. H. Forrest, J. W. Sard, and Mrs J. Phipps; home industries, Mesdames A. Baker, T. Batie, J. Borrell, and J. M. Young; work Ueedune. G Simpson, A. Green, G. Miller, and \\. Baker- sweets stall, Girls Sunshine Cluo ?he secretarial duties were efficiently carried out bv Msr R. W. Wylie. During the evening session a concert, provided by the Kaiapoi Methodist Orchestra, proved an additional attraction. The awards 10 the flowsr show were as follows: Bert Collection daffodils: Mr B.
