BRITISH AND FOREIGN BIBLE SOCIETY.
♦ A meeting of tboM interacted in tbe British and foreign Bible Society «H WU en Wednesday afternoon in St. OiTid'i Preabyterian Hall, Colombo street, to ravive tie activities of th« Beekauham sad Sydenham branch. Mrs Reid, late of the China Inland Mission. gave some striking instance* from personal expediences of the Tata* of the Society in China. The following officers were elected:—Preiident, Mrs D. £. Carrie; vicepresidents, Matrons Johnston and Robinson, and Mils Gainsford; secretary. Miss 1. C. Bailey. Mrs Le Bran's singing of negro spirituals was greatly appreciated. The organising secretary, the Rot. A. W. Stewart, took occasion to express thank* to all who had helped with the successful afternoon.
