% i {from otra ow* cokbbspohbknt.) LONDON, August 15. Mr and Mrs H. W. Bullivant and their daughter (Christchurch) have returned from a motor tour of the Continent. From Calais they went north through Belgium and Holland to Northern Germany, and then "went south to Austria, touching Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Nuremberg, and Munich on the way. After some time In Austria they travelled through Switzerland and down the Bhine Valley to the battlefields area, and ifound up in Paris. Mr and Mrs Bullivant will be in London for a few weeks, and they will take their final departure from Liverpool on September 21st. They hope to go to Ireland for a short while. Mr H. C. Lane (Spreydon) is in Warwickshire. Mr and Mrs Lane will not return to New Zealand until some time next year. They will probably winter in the South of France. Miss E. Verity (Waimate) is visiting Bristol, prior to leaving on a motor tour to the North of England and Scotland. Listeners are deriving pleasure from the broadcasting of Miss Marie Ney. A few days ago she took a leading part ! in the comic opera, "The Fountain of Youth," and this week she has been heard as Queen Katharine in a specially prepared version ,of Shakespeare's "Henry VIII." This was done on two successive nights. Becent callers at the High Commissioner's Office have included Mr L. Newton (Ashburton), Mr A. M. ActonAdams, Mrs J. J. White (Blenheim), Sir John and Lady Findlay, Mr B. D. Townsend (Christchurch), Mrs A. G. Thomson (Timaru), Mr P. Thomson (Nelson).
