The United Friendly Societies Benevolent Association met on Saturday, Bro. F. E. Foote presiding over a fair attendance of delegates. The secretary reported that the trustees had inrested £3lO in Government securities and their action was endorsed. An application for assistance from the Court Star of Canterbury was received on behalf of one of their needy brothers, and the sum of £ls «u granted.
