FATAL MOTOR SMASH.

EVIDENCE AT INQUESTS. [THE FSBBS Sftclil gttricc.] AUCKLAND, September 16. The inquests were opened to-day before Mr F. K. Hunt, Coroner, into the deaths of Alfred Clarke, aged 36, and Mrs Aileen Parkinson, aged 27, who were killed m a motor smash on the Great South road on Saturday night. Evidence was given by a brother-in-law of Clarke that he was a married man, with six children. Joseph Allen Parkinson stated that hj« was the husband of Aileen ParkinBon. They had no children. He was at work on Saturday night, and did not know his wife was out in a motorcar. He laet saw her alive at 2 p.m. on Saturday. She said she was going for a walk. He did not go home to tea on Saturday. Th« Coroner adjourned both inquests ■ine die.
