SHIRLEY-RICHMOND NOTES.
Personal. Mr and Mrs C. H. Burson (Slater street), and their daughter, Olive, have returned from a holiday trip to Napier. Poet Office. Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., has notified the secretary of the Richmond Burgesses' Absociation, Mr E. C. Brown, that the Postmaster-General (the Hod. Mr Donald) will meet a deputation from the Association, regarding a post office for Richmond, at the corner of North Avoa road and North parade, at 10.30 a.m. on Monday. School Committee. At the monthly meeting of the Shirley School Committee, it was decided to draw the attention of the City Council to the dangerous state of the bridges in Slater and Chancellor streets, and to point out that it was fortunate that up to the present there had been no serious acciaenta. No action was taken regarding a circular received from the Canterbury School Committees' Association, with reference to altering school terms, it being considered that the present dates were satisfactory. The headmaster's report showed a very good average attendance. The sum of £lO was received from old girls of the school who had organised dances to assist the school funds. The headmaster reported that the exhibition of school work would ba held in October.
