TENNIS, BOWLING, AND CROQUET. ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the United Bowling, Tennis, and Croquet Club states that another successful season has been enjoyed, the mem bership having oeen more than ma.niained, it now standing at 540. The statement of acconnts shows an excess of receipts over expenditure of £143 13s, the debit ba.ance having oeen reduced from x23< ds **d to £93 15s 9d. B Watson; champion pairs, Messrs H. Ranger and E. W. Taylor (skip); champion rinks, Messrs G. Ward, J. A. Russell, W. Morrison, and H. E. B. Watson; handicap singles, Mr W. F. Tait; handicap pairs, Messrs J. C. Sheldon and S. J. Smith; Labour Day pairs, Messrs J. A. Russell (lead), J. Brown, jun. (skip). Tennis. The report states that the season was a very successful one for the tennis section of the club. The winners of the competitions were: —Men's championship singles, C. Angas; men's championship doubles, C. Angas and T. W. Patterson; women's championship singles, Miss May Speirs; women's championship doubles. Misses M. Speirs and M. Wake; mixed championship doubles, Miss M. Wake and I. A. Seay; men's handicap singles, A grade, D. F. Glanville; men's handicap singles, B grade, J. Fisher; men's hand'eap singles, C grade, S. A. TV't: men's hnndi cap doubles, B grade. L. J. Travers and A. R. Whitehead; women's handicap doubles, A grade. Misses D. Xicholls and B. Macdoriald; women's hand : cap doubles, B grade. Misses K. Sharp and E. Donaldson; mixed handicap doubles. A grade. Miss M. Speirs and Dr. P E. Allison; mixed handicap doubles, B grade, Miss N\ Hoare and B. Savill. Croquet Section. The past season proved a most successful one for the croquet section of the club, in spite of the fact that the lawns suffered from a visitation of "fairy rings."
