EXPLOSION IN WELSH MINE.
j « | EIGHT LIVES LOST. (MXTIfIB OTFICT4X. WTMLMS.J (Received July 10th, 7.45 p.m.) RUGBY, July 10. Eight lives were lost to-day in an explosion at the Milhraen Colliery, Laenavon. South Wales. About 60 men were working in the pit at the time. Four were killed outright, and four others trapped below, hope of rescue being abandoned after the gallant effort: of rescue parties had been frustrated by poisonous gases and falls from the roof.
